Super Simple Monkey Bread

Posted on

Monkey Bread is a delicious, easy-to-make pull-apart breakfast/dessert loaf!

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.  Spray a bundt pan with cooking spray.  Combine 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar with 2 tsp. cinnamon or 1 T. grated orange zest.  For ease of preparation and cleanup, the recipe recommends mixing these ingredients together in a large Ziploc bag.  You can also play around with these ingredients…changing the orange zest to lemon, adding chopped walnuts or slivered almonds, putting in some dried fruit like raisins, cranberries, or apples, and so on.  Open up 3 cans of refrigerated biscuits and separate them.  Cut each biscuit into quarters.  Place these biscuit pieces into the Ziploc bag and shake to coat each piece.  Put the coated pieces into the Bundt pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until the loaf is lightly browned.  Serve as is (my favourite way) or you can stir together 1/2 cup of icing sugar with 3-4 tsp. of milk to make a glaze for it.  Yummy served warm or room temperature!
